We got back to the car park after watching an amazing set from Neil Young, this music has been a part of my life for 40 years now,i can remember incessantly playing After the Goldrush on cassette in the car on a surfing trip to portugal in 1972,faced with the mayhem in the car park we broke out the folding chairs and set to work on the three cases of beer that we were not allowed to take into the festival earlier in the day. Left at 2.pm and drove straight out and back to excellent b&b in ...

At the mo, for a minibus 8 - 17 seats, the return journey works out at between £10 and £20 each, depending on the size of bus and whether or not we have get a driver.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOU WOULD ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING US ON THE COACH AND HOW MANY SEATS YOU WOULD LIKE. I would like to sort this out within ...

Surely there are people out there who thought it the most outrageous self indulgence that Neil Young took approx half an hour to complete his penultimate offering, "No Hidden Path"?

I love musical improvisation, and I like Neil Young, but the old warrior is no genius when it comes to playing the guitar. He was banging out the same riff and repeated runs for almost the whole length of the song, and surely his diehard supporters are deluded if they think this is "awesome". ...

Well whatever anybody else thought I had a great day. I thought the quality of the acts was superb. It was a long time since I have been to an outdoor do and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound system. I half expected chaos on the way out so that didn't even dampen my day. And most importantly I though the man's set and performance was stunning. If you'd like to see some pictures I took have a look at:

Took two hours of complete stand still to move from the carpark and therefore did not get back to London until 3.30am. Very poorly organised with no stewards where they were needed, and then 10 of them on the road once you got out. Ridiculous planning by Vince Power and completely ruined any good vibes from the music.

Have been to many festivals and have never seen any car park exit so badly organised.

Will not be returning as a result of this and I am sure the thousands of others in ...

According to someone I was chatting to the price was about half you get a sponsored festivals like Reading. I wouldn't know, it was more expensive than my High Street, that's what I had to work on. I know plenty about the price ...

The Hop Farm Festival was the first I've been to since the early Eighties, and I had a much better time than I had any real reason to expect, given the general demand for instant gratification that so many people seem to be obsessed with nowadays! It was completely obvious beforehand that transport was probably going to be a complete nightmare; car park problems notwithstanding, the narrow back roads of Kent in the dark are always going to be a challenge. If you thought this was crap, you should ...

Now it stands to reason does it not that many Neil Young fans would be fussy about their choice of beer. Any promoter who is 'with the people' would realize this. However, I recall at Fleadh events in London in the past, also run by Vince Power, the beer choice was canned Caffreys at an unprintable price (but don't expect much of your fiver left!) - and this from the "Workers Beer Cooperative" - with a name like that you might expect to get a good pint of draught beer.
First up, thanks for a great festival. Everest and the Guillemots were brilliant! I was there for everything before Neil Young, and judging by the posts about the car park debacle, then it's lucky we left 4 or 5 songs into his set.

Things to keep for next year:

Food and drink allowed on site. This was a good call. £5.50 for a burger? No thanks!

Fold out chairs and umbrellas. Sitting around all day on the ground getting wet ain't fun, so having chairs and umbrellas is a must.

It was my wife's first festival and we had a great time. Great line up and if you like half the bands, you're doing ok. Thought Rufus Wainwright's Hallelujah was worth the £50 ticket, loved MMJ and Neil Young ... say no more.

Myself and a friend arrived just as My Morning Jacket were finishing - sounded great.

From then on we didn't have to wait, queue, or experience any discomfort all evening

Buying drinks - 3mins, Buying food - straight away, queue for toilets - didn't. Smelly toilets - No

Good Views - got them.

Annoying people in the audience - none

I think we must have been lucky too with getting of site in the car in 10mins - no q's on the way out.

Would have liked to have kept ticket though.

The security staff, provided by AP, were excellent from where I was stood, being polite, friendly and helpful, giving out bottled water, providing a place for us folks on the front barrier to put our bags, and generally being approachable. The overworked and under-informed ...

Following hundreds of complaints over this years parking fiasco event organisers have held emergency discussions to help fund and avoid the 2 to 3 hour wait that punters had to endure in order to exit the site after this years washout.
