Your top tips for surviving a soaking.

Post  janmoomoo on Wed Jul 02, 2008 9:00 pm

It looks like we are likely to get a good soaking on Sunday . I notice on the info page that no umbrellas are allowed. How are you intending to stay dry and happy (apart from drinking copious amounts and not caring!!)?

Which info page are you looking at? I can't see anything about umbrellas. Having said that, as long as they are referring to that irritating song by Rihanna, I'm quite happy! Laughing

But they just muss up your hair!!! lol! Seriously though, they're okay for the early parts if your not squashed down the front. Not to say those massive golfing ones aren't a bit of a pain, but smaller folding ones are fine with me. Don't forget, we're going to be there for 12 hours or so and who wants to eat soggy food? Very Happy

I survived three years in the UK without a rain coat... then three weeks before I leave back for the new continent I'll be buying one. The things I do for Neil. Smile

How's that?? Were you held hostage for three years, or did you just not go out much? Laughing

I'm not quite sure how I did it, but I did do it! Impressive no?
I will admit to a few soakers, especially on those days with rain and high wind where an umbrella is more of nuissance than an aid.

AHHHHH!!! They have taken off the bit about no umbrellas. It was there last night on the info page under site map and details (bizarrely). Maybe they too have been looking at the weather forecast.

I found today long plastic ponchos in Asda for 1.98. Distinctly unfashionable but could be crucial. If you see someone looking like an eejit in a yellow one that'll be me!!

No umbrellas

Post  Wunty on Thu Jul 03, 2008 3:19 pm

My God! Can you imagine a festival crowd all with their umbrellas launched. What is the world coming to? No-one would be able to see anything and you would be constantly jabbed and poked in the face by arrogant idiots with their golfing brollies. If I see any fool with such a device I will very quickly become a fierce enemy of theirs. Get wet, have fun, be nice to each other.
Next thing we know people will be demanding to bring fold up chairs. AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
