Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
What would be your dream line-up for next year's Hop Farm Festival, or any festival for that matter! Or, who do you wish would play the festival more than anybody else???
Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
I think they covered my dream line-up when they said Neil Young...lol
Seriously, the best line-up for me personally would be:
Neil Young Headline
The Doors
Love
Donovan
Mercury Rev
The Decemberists
Rilo Kiley
The Arcade Fire
The Moldy Peaches
Jenny Owen Youngs (if you haven't heard of this beautiful young woman yet: www.myspace.com/jennyowenyoungs)
Belle & Sebastian
The Dandy Warhols
I'm not fussy...

Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
Good ideas for the line up so far, hows about
Neil, Primal Scream, Suprgrass, The Black Crowes, Crosby, Stills and / or Nash, Pegi Young and something a bit more out there like shiburatsu-shirazu Orchestra (Japanese crazy people) - not sure on the spelling but a have seen footgage of them @ Glastonbury 03; like a 25+ piece group playing crazy music.
I'll admit, ive not heard much of the other suggestions you guys have made but certainly gives me soemthing to keep an eye/ear out for!

Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
I'll be honest, I was hoping Neil would persuade his old buddies Pearl Jam to come over as support, can't see that now.
Would love to see Black Mountain open the day up, then maybe Cerys Matthews relax us all in the afternoon sunshine, then how about the Fratellis get the party started before Supergrass...
And, how about Damien Rice...now that would be a treat.

Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
Well since PRIMAL SCREAM was given second billing... I do not think any of the soon to be mentioned line-up will be bigger then them.... which is a bit sad really.
I also would have loved to see PEARL JAM..... since they, as well as ALL of the Grunge bands are a direct result of being influenced buy NEIL YOUNG. How about Chris and Eddie get TEMPLE of THE DOG to jam for one night only?? That be cool!
I would really dig some other USA bands... hope NEIL is not the only NON-Brit artist.
But at the end of the day I got my ticket on the fact that NEIL YOUNG was playing... so if anything else gets added its just a bonus.
If the rest stink then it just gives me more time to drink before Neil comes out to play.

I would LOVE the Flaming lips to play, they are in and around the UK in the summer, and they would fit in nicely

That's brilliant. My Morning Jacket, what can I say. Can't wait to see them live. Just need Pearl Jam or Bob Dylan now. Doubt it but hey, it would be great.

Hey there people,
I echo the above sentiments, MMJ are one of those bands I have been wanting to check out for a while and hey, they have been added?! They certainly sound more appealing to your pure Neil fan than the others, here's hoping for the rest of the line up!

Would be good to see the excellent Roger Chapman & the Shortlist added. Checkout www.chappo.com Neil with remember his fantastic vocals from the 70's band Family.

Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
Just a note on My Morning Jacket.
If you go to Itunes & put 'My Morning Jacket' in the search engine it brings up 4 x Podcasts.
The podcasts are 2 gigs split into 2 'casts and are about an hour or so each of them playing live and , in my humble opinion, That Damn Good!
If you arent familiar with 'em, check it out! Good Call Vince Power!
If we are gonna go down the dream line up route for NEXT Year - Neil or Metallica to headline.....
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Metallica
Aerosmith
DOWN
Crosby/Stills and/or Nash - joining The Man in his own set too
NOFX
The Prodigy
Gilles Peterson - DJ Set
Fear Factory (classic line up)
Slayer
The Wildhearts
The Supersuckers
My Morning Jacket
Monster Magnet
Ugly Duckling
Red Snapper
Elbow
Muse
Ben Folds
Buddy Guy
Sha-na-na
+44
Richie Havens
Santana.......and to round it off and make next year 'Bring The Awesome'.......Pink Floyd - with or without Roger Waters.......I dont wish for much do i? I could go on as well............

Re: Wishlist / Dream Line-ups
I know it would never happen but if I could've picked this years line-up I would've gone for...
Howard Elliott Payne
Mark Morriss
Stephen Fretwell
Shack
Damien Rice
The Coral (acoustic)
Ryan Adams
Spiritualized: Acoustic Mainlines
Noel Gallagher
Joni Mitchell
Bob Dylan
Neil Young
If Arthur Lee and Jimmy Campbell were still around today I would've stuck them in there as well.
